Marshal N. Wright

Marshall Wright is the Director, Business Development for the Sate of Utah, Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). He is responsible for the development of new and the sustaining of Utah businesses in the economic industry sectors serving the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security (DoD/DHS). Mr. Wright has over 45 years of experience in engineering, marketing and business management in the DoD technology sector. Mr. Wright started his career at the Sperry Corporation, where he was an engineer and manager responsible for the design of radar weapon fire control systems for the Navy. Later at Unisys (successor to Sperry and predecessor to L-3 Communications) Mr. Wright served as a marketing director for Navy programs. In 2005, Mr. Wright retired as director of strategic planning and business development for Homeland Security programs for the Utah division of L-3 Communications, Communications Systems- West.

Mr. Wright is a member of several local business organizations that promote economic growth in Utah, and has served as an advisor to the State of Utah’s Centers of Excellence program, which is administered by the GOED.

Mr. Wright is the chairman of the Board of Directors for Salt Lake City’s Leonardo Museum and is chairman of the Leonardo Museum Board’s Governance Committee. The Leonardo Museum is an inter-disciplinary museum that utilizes the arts (visual, music and documentary) to provide a learning experience for science and culture.

Mr. Wright holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the City University of New York, and a Master’s Degree in Applied Physics from Adelphi University in Long Island, New York.
